History
AarhusKarlshamn stands for quality, knowledge and world class. Furthermore, Aarhus is the name of the Danish city where it all started in 1871 and is still the home of our holding company.
International Collection has been proudly supplying export markets since 1990 when AAK expanded its retail division into the worldwide market. It is now exported to around 25 countries on a world-wide basis and has been available in the USA for around 15 years. International Collection has a presence in the US from North to South, coast to coast and is the leading specialty oil brand in the category with 32 items in the range
Products
The International Collection brand offers the discerning home-chef an array of mouth-watering products, from Seed and Nut oils, to Flavored and Dipping oils to Specialty Foods such as Tapenades. There really is a product for every culinary occasion. Let International Collection Toasted Sesame Oil add an authentic flavor to Oriental style dishes, or drift away as our Garlic and Basil Flavored Oils provide you with the classic flavors of the Mediterranean. Our Seed and Nut Oils add delicious depth to your dishes, while our Tapenades offer a quick solution to all of your appetizer needs.
We also have a wide range of products and product types available from our specialty oils and food facilities, which are certified by the Organic governing body “The Soil Association”. All natural, trans fat, cholesterol and GMO free, the diverse range is a perfect choice for your health too.

Within our facility there is a dedicated plant for our specialty products, which is designed to accommodate the most stringent standards required by the world market.

The Med Mark
During the summer of 2007, International Collection teamed up with the Med Mark program. The mark has been created by Oldways, a non profit organization started in 1990 with the goal of promoting healthy eating concepts. Oldways also developed the Whole Grain stamp, which has seen phenomenal support and is a mark the consumers can quickly identify with.
The Med Mark is designed to highlight products to consumers as being approved as part of the Mediterranean diet pyramid and International Collection was one of the first brands to sign up! The benefits of the Mediterranean diet are well publicized and have long been associated with healthy eating and longevity. AarhusKarlshamn (AAK) is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of value-added vegetable oils. The group has over 100 years experience in the oils and fats business and it’s facility in the UK, AAK UK Ltd, is one of the most comprehensive edible oil facilities in Europe.
AAK UK Ltd was crowned Food From Britain Exporter of the Year in December 2006 at a glitzy ceremony in London. In addition to this accolade, AAK was also awarded Grocery Exporter of the Year and Private Label Exporter of the Year. The judges were particularly impressed with our commitment to export, our continual product development program and our innovative packaging ideas such as ‘peel and read’ labels.
AAK has a strong business in the retail sector, both in the UK and overseas. UK activities are concentrated in the own label sector, working with the multiple retailers primarily on the ‘premium’ own label brands.
AAK UK Ltd is also active in a number of business sectors globally, including bulk supply of oils to food manufacturers, the provision of oils to fast food outlets, hotels and restaurant chains and the supply of oils to well-known personal care manufacturers.
