Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Made from the first cold pressing of selected olives, this oil gives a distinctive flavor to salads, marinades and continental cooking.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made from the fruits of the Olive Tree. The Olive Tree is the oldest cultivated tree in the world and is grown mainly on the shores of the Mediterranean, primarily of Spanish origin. The oil is obtained from the first cold pressing to protect its beneficial properties and has an acidity of less than 1%.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is golden yellow / green in color and has a characteristic fruity flavor, sometimes with a peppery after taste.
The Mediterranean diet is famed for its beneficial nutritional properties and Extra Virgin Olive Oil forms a basis for many dishes within this culture. For further information on the Mediterranean diet visit www.mediterraneanmark.org.
